To move a domain into our system there are a few steps that you would need to take. The first is to setup your domain on your hosting subscription and to update the nameservers. Please see the following knowledgebase article on what to do:
Once you have your domain setup on your subscription and have updated the nameserver you can then move the domain registration over to us.
There are different steps to take depending on what type of domain you have please see below for the various types:
.uk domains
Please ask your registrar (the people the domain is registered with) to change the IPS tag to 'EHOSTING' (without the '' marks). Once this is done please get in touch with us by emailing support@ehosting.com, including the domain name in the email, so that we can finalise the transfer.
There is no cost involved in moving a .uk domain to our system. Please be aware that you will not be able to update the nameservers via our control panel until the IPS tag is listed as 'EHOSTING'.
.Com etc. domains
Please login to the eHosting control panel by going to www.ehosting.com. Once there please click the sign in link, enter your username (email address) and the account password then click the 'Sign In' button. If you have difficulties logging in to the eHosting control panel please click on this link:

Once logged in please click on the account tab, and then click on the Register new domain icon. Select 'Transfer domains mode' from below the text box, enter the domain name you wish to transfer into the larger text box that should appear, click on Check domain, select the domain to transfer and then click add to cart. Please then proceed to the checkout.
Please be aware that .com etc. domains cost £10 + VAT to transfer but use this fee to renew your domain for a further year so that you do not lose out.
Please ensure that your domain contact information is upto date. An email will be sent to the domain owners email address requesting confirmation of the transfer (you use the authorisation code at this point). If your email address is not upto date you will need to contact the company you are moving the domain from to update the contact details for you.
If you have any queries at any stage please do get in touch with us at support@ehosting.com. | |
