Backing up a database

To take a backup please login to your control panel and navigate to your subscription.  For details on how to do this please click the link below:

Find below the various steps to follow for each hosting type: Entry Level, Virtual, and Dedicated.   If you are not sure what type of subscription you have please consult the following link:

Entry Level subscription

 

  1. Click on the home tab
  2. Click on the domains link/domains tab/domains icon (globe icon).
  3. Click on the manage hosting/control panel link corresponding to the domain name.  
  4. Click on the websites and domains tab (skip this step if you cannot see it)
     
  • For MSSQL databases click on the backup manager icon.
     

To take a backup of your database please click on the backup manager icon, then click on the database backup manager icon (Sometimes this is located in the 'More Actions' drop down, then on the 'Back up' icon.  Please choose the database to backup and give your backup a name.  Please remember to end the backup name with .bak as this will ensure that the backup is saved in the correct format.

 

  • For MYSQL databases click on the databases icon

Click on the databases icon, Click on the database name, then on the webadmin icon.  A popup window will then open.  Please select your database from the panel on the left hand side.  Click on the export tab, select the tables you wish to include in the backup.  Then ensure the 'save as' tick box is selected, give the backup a name and then click the 'Go' button.  The backup will then be downloaded through your browser to your local machine.

 

 

Virtual subscription

 

  1. Click on the domains link/domains tab/domains icon (globe icon).
  2. Click on the manage hosting/control panel link corresponding to the domain name.  
  3. Click on the websites and domains tab (skip this step if you cannot see it)
