Password protecting directories

Thank you for your enquiry.  To setup a password protected directory please login to your control panel and navigate to your subscription.  For details on how to do this please click the link below:

Find below the various steps to follow for each hosting type: Entry Level, Virtual, and Dedicated.   If you are not sure what type of subscription you have please consult the following link:

Entry Level subscription

 

  1. Please click on the 'Domains' icon or tab.
  2. Please then click on the domain name
  3. Click on the websites and domains tab (please skip if you cannot see any tabs)
  4. Click on the small grey down chevron below the applications area then click on the password protected directories icon.  Or click on the show advanced operations link then the password protected directories icon

 

On here you will be able to create your password protected directory by clicking the 'Add protected directory' icon.  Give the path to the directory and provide a title for this area, then click OK.  You will then be prompted to create a user.  

If you need to reset the username or password please click on the path link for the affected directory that is listed on the password protected directories main page.  You will then be able to see the users that are setup for this directory.  Click on the username to be taken to the screen where you can reset the password.

     

     

    Virtual subscription

     

    1. Click on the ‘Parallels Plesk Panel’ icon and then click on the ‘Open Panel’ button. When logging in to the panel, you will need to use ‘Admin’ as the username and the password that corresponds to this username.
    2. If you can see a ‘Domains’ option in the left-hand menu or a ‘Web Spaces’ tab please click either.
    3. Please then click on the domain name
    4. Click on the websites and domains tab (please skip if you cannot see any tabs)
    5. Click on the small grey down chevron below the applications area then click on the password protected directories icon.  Or click on the show advanced operations link then the password protected directories icon

      Dedicated subscription

       

      1. If you can see a ‘Domains’ option in the left-hand menu or a ‘Web Spaces’ tab click either.
      2. Click on the ‘create domain’ icon or add new subscription button to create a new domain.
      3. Please then click on the domain name
      4. Click on the websites and domains tab (please skip if you cannot see any tabs)
      5. Click on the small grey down chevron below the applications area then click on the password protected directories icon.  Or click on the show advanced operations link then the password protected directories icon
