Knowledgebase: Hosting Management
Users and additional FTP accounts

Due to the control panel software that we use it is not possible to create more than one FTP user account per domain.  There is however a way in which you can work around this.  You could change an existing email account to become a web administrator for all domains or just one.  Part of the privileges would be the ability to reach the files in the httpdocs folder by using the file manager utility.

To set up a web administrator (or edit an existing mail account user) please login to your eHosting control panel and navigate to your subscription.  If you are unsure as to how to do this please see this guide:

Find below the various steps to follow for each hosting type (Entry Level, Virtual, and Dedicated). If you are not sure what type of subscription you have please consult the following link:

Entry Level subscription

  1. Click on the domains tab or icon
  2. Click on the manage hosting link corresponding to the domain name, or the domain name if there is no link
  3. Click on the users tab or the domain administrator icon

If you clicked on the domain administrator icon then the domain admin name is already set for you (the username is the domain name).  Simply enter in the desired password in the two boxes, click on the tick boxes for the permissions you wish to assign and then click OK to confirm.

To access the panel for this user please navigate to the following address:

https://<enter your domain here>:8443

For example if you hosted the site ehosting.com this would be reached by going to https://ehosting.com:8443.  Enter the username and the password then login.

If you clicked on the Users tab, click on the ‘create user account’ if you wish to setup a new account (for an external user for example) or click on an existing account to edit their permissions.  Select 'Web Master' from the user role drop down box and then control access to a particular plan using the 'Access to subscriptions' drop down.  Enter in the desired password into the two password text boxes and then click OK to confirm.
